Ippenburg Castle is 600-year-old ancestral home of a noble family Bussche-Ippenburg . The descendants live there today, the castle is privately owned, so there are restrictions on visiting.schedule ) or in summer with a group of at least 20 people by appointment.

Bad Essen and 5 km from Bohmte. Unfortunately, there is no train station in Bad Essen. Nearest station is Bohmte. I went to Bad Essen on bicycle from Melle (track ) and went back from Bohmte. There are many pointers on the way. Overall trip was about 30 km. The way Melle - Bad Essen is quite difficult, a lot of ups and downs. So better arrive by train at Bohmte.
