Gurzuf Park is one of the first parks that were founded after the return of Crimea to Russia in 1808. The park interested us mostly because here in addition to the standard set of fountains, sculptures, and landscape compositions, are small houses with very unusual architecture. They give the park its distinctive flavor and make it unique.

The most interesting buildings and sculptures are located near the main avenue that overlooks the waterfront. The river that flows along the alley is called Avunda. Here is also the most beautiful fountain - Noch (Night), acquired at an exhibition in Vienna in 1889 and created based on Greek mythology. The most famous Russian poet Alexander Pushkin used to live here for 17 days and wrote about the park in his poems. A monument to him stands in the park. You will also find busts of famous people who visited Gurzuf: Adam Mickiewicz, Lesya Ukrainka, Fedor Shalyapin, Anton Chekhov, Maksim Gorky, Vladimir Mayakovsky.

Getting there: By minibus Yalta - Artek to the last stop, near a church. Further it is important: the park is closed for indivisual tourists. You can visit it with a guided tour, which is performed by the staff of "Gurzuf" resort at 11 am and 5 pm (ask at the gate). We went out of the bus on the main road above the city and went on foot along the Gurzuf highway. By the way, the road has an observation deck with great views of Gurzuf and Ayu-Dag. Near the first small shop we turned left and entered the park through one of the passages that are not guarded. Even if a guard will be there, I think you'll be able to negotiate :) I mean 20-30 UAH per person ($3-4).
