The Đurđevića Tara Bridge is a 172-meter tall concrete bridge. You can find the information in the Internet that this bridge is the tallest road bridge in Europe. In fact, the tallest one is the Millau Viaduct in France. The bridge in Montenegro is one of the tallest.

The bridge has a tragic history. You will see a monument to engineer Lazarus Yanukovych near the entrance to the bridge. The construction of the bridge was completed in 1940, and in 1941 the occupying forces of the Italians invaded the country. Partizans, with the help of Lazarus, were able to carefully blow up the central arch, stopping the attack, as there were no other bridges across the canyon in the area. The Italians found the engineer and shot him. The bridge was restored in 1946.
