The city consists of two parts, one is a large port, the second is a seaside resort. Earlier we were in the port, from where we visited the island of Helgoland . If you do not need to get on the ship, then there is nothing special to do there, except to look at the old lighthouse (N 53 52.321 E 8 42.499 ). Near the train station there is also a city park with a small Ritzebuettel castle (N 53 51.430 E 8 41.910 ).

Getting there: Cuxhaven train station is quite far from the beach, so you still need to take a bus to the Kugelbake, Cuxhaven stop, use
bahn.de . There is quite a lot of parking space, we parked here
