Universal Studios theme park is located in Singapore on the Sentosa island. It opened in 2010 and became the second studio park in Asia (the first one is in Tokyo). Like other parks of such type, it is divided into theme zones, each of which has its own unique design and attractions. Each zone is dedicated to a particular movie made by Universal Studios.
The park is incredibly popular, there's always a lot of people here. We visited it on Tuesday morning and still saw a lot of visitors. I don't even want to imagine what's going on here on weekends. If you have no Express pass, then it's a good idea to go to the right in the park and visit Sci-Fi City and later Ancient Egypt. Two most popular attractions are located in these areas - Transformers and The Mummy. So, even at 11:45 am on Tuesday the waiting time for the Transformers already exceeded 60 minutes. Therefore, if you don't want to stand in line for over an hour, you have to get there as early as possible. Of course, in this case all other attractions will not be as interesting as the first two.
Since we had express passes, we went to the left, starting from the children's ride - Madagascar. The design was beautiful, so we had fun.
Further, in the area of Far Far Away we rode a small roller coaster Enchanted Airways and went to the Lost World. This area I liked the most, because I'm a fan of the movie. Here, we visited three attractions. Canopy Flyer - a medium size roller coaster. Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure - the main attraction of the Lost World. At the entrance you will need to leave your stuff in automatic boxes. At this attraction you will definitely get wet, so bring appropriate clothes. The third attraction was stunt show based on the Waterworld movie. Check out the schedule in advance and plan your visit to come in time.
Then we went to Ancient Egypt. We left our stuff in the boxes in the Lost World area, as they are not allowed on the Mummy roller coaster. The last point of the program was the Transformers ride. This is the most high-tech attraction of the park. The presence effect is just awesome.
We visited many, but not all attractions of the park. With the express pass and a visit to Water World we spent about four hours in the park.
A single ticket costs S$74. If you pay with a Mastercard, you can get a 15% discount. Tickets can be purchased here. Additionally, we bought 2 Express Passes that allow you to skip the queue. Better buy tickets in advance as it's possible that they will be all sold out on weekends.
