Of all the parks of the central part of Singapore, Southern Ridges is one of the least visited by tourists (they just don't know about this place). Walking trail passes directly through a number of different parks, each of which has its own features. The total route length is more than 7 kilometers. $20 million was spent to create this fantastic route. If you like to walk, then don't miss the opportunity to visit this wonderful place.
The track starts from Mount Faber Park, but if you have enough power, then you can start from the HarbourFront metro station and go upstairs on a Marang Trail. However, it's not easy in the middle of the day when it's hot. There are several other ways to climb Mount Faber. The most expensive way is by cable car that starts from one of office buildings near the HarbourFront metro station (look for signs). Also you can reach the top by taxi.
Along the way you'll see some unusual places. For example, the highest bridge in Singapore that has a very unusual design. Or forest trail, a metal ramp 10 meters above the ground.
We walked only half of the route to the Alexandra Arch and then went to the Labrador Park metro station. There are several toilets on the route, as well as machines with water and beverages, the first one is right after the Henderson Waves bridge. On the route you can find monkeys. We didn't see them, but the signs prohibiting from feeding say that they are there.
Here you can view information about all parts of the park and download PDF files with description. And here is a schematic map of the route:
