Gemile Bay, a little Turkish secret

We visited quite a few beaches around Fethiye and we liked the beach in Gemiler Bay. Not because it is fabulously beautiful, but simply because all the other beaches are full of people and it is quite easy to get to them. And here, at least some kind of solitude and adventure.

The sunbeds are quite old and the entrance to the water is not easy. However, the place is picturesque and the water is the cleanest of all the beaches we visited. Also the road to the beach is also interesting.

There is a toilet and a restaurant. Near the restaurant there is a small and better maintained section of the beach, with a good sandy entrance, but we saw it only when we were leaving.

From the beach you can see the island of Gemiler or the island of St. Nicholas. Yes, the one who brings gifts to children. This is not a legend, archaeologists really believe that this may be the site of his original burial. Because of a possible war, the remains were later moved to the city of Myra.

The island can be reached by boat from the beach or by tourist boat from Oludeniz.
