Sokyryntsi

We went to Sokyryntsy to see the palace and park of the Galagan family. You can either order a tour (at least it was possible in 2007) or just walk around the park. Currently the building hosts an agricultural lyceum.

Behind the building there is a ramp instead of a stairway. I have not seen such ramps in other similar places in Ukraine.






There is an abandoned park behind the sports field where we found a destroyed gate. If you walk through the park, you can get to the lake.






Getting there: There's no direct transport from Kyiv and Chernihiv. You can get there either by train or by bus to Nizhyn, and from there by bus to Ivanytsya (2-3 times a day), but look for the schedule in advance. An easier way is to order a tour, which will also include Sokyryntsi and Trostyanets.
