Ichnyansky National Park is located in the Chernihiv region and covers an area about 10 thousand hectares. The main objective of the park is preservation of the existing ecological environment of forests, rivers and lakes. Nature is beautiful, there are scenic spots.
Why worth a visit:
- To spend a day in nature
- To see spring primroses
- To have a picnic in a picturesque location
- To walk in the woods, on ecotrail
We came in March, to see primroses.
The park has two ecotrails, we visited ecotrail "Sadova", near the village of Buda. Its length is about 3 kilometers, marking is not always noticeable. But it runs around the pond, so it's difficult to get lost. We started from the picnic area (N 50°45'17.6'', E 32°18'19.9''), and returned to the same place. There are a lot of picnic places in the park, although this is the only tourist infrastructure.
There is no information on the Internet about ecotrails, so if you do not visit the main office, here is a rough map. This is a walk through the woods along the lake. You can come with children.
Eco-trail received it's title from the surname of people who lived here 100 years ago. Theie estate is not preserved and the only human sign now is abandoned linden alley, which is located behind the sign It would be nice to restore the estate, then the place would get a very different status.
In some places the trail comes out to the lakes and offers very beautiful scenery.
If you carefully look around, you can find a lot of interesting things.
There is an old soviet military unit in the park. From the top it looks quite unusual. Also not far from the park discovered oil field and according to the constantly burning fire it has some oil.
Getting there: You need a car and definetely some english speaking guy to visit this place. Without it, I can not imagine what you will do here. There are direct buses from Kiev but with a bad schedule, so you cannot visit park in one day. Road is not very good and takes 2.5 - 3 hours from Kiev.
