Capdepera castle

A large and well-preserved 16th-century castle. Inside the walls were 50 buildings for 200 inhabitants, so this is even more a fortress, than a castle. The construction was carried out in 1342 - 1386, at the times when pirates actively attacked Mallorca.




Without a drone, the best view of the castle opens from the only parking lot (N 39 42.085 E 3 26.040), so even if you arrived by bus, go at first to the parking lot.


And then go to the castle, through the center of the town.




The island's defense was improved, the inhabitants of the fortress moved over the walls and founded the town of Capdepera.

Governor's House (19th century) with a museum inside.

During the high season, owls and other birds of prey live in one of the premises, but in December there were none.

Getting there: parking N 39 42.085 E 3 26.040, then continue to the castle on foot though the city center. You can get from Palma (Estació Intermodal) by bus 411 (schedule and map) to the stop Plaça Constitució, Capdepera.
