Unlike other mini-towns in the southern part of the Great harbour, there are almost no fortifications on Senglea. But on the very edge there is wall, a small park and watchtower "Gardiola" (Vedetta), one of the symbols of Malta. It is the only tower left from the fort destroyed by the Luftwaffe. On the walls of the tower find bas-reliefs of the ear, the eye and the bird. I think it's clear what they are symbolize.
Compare strengthening with Vittoriosa. By the way, such enormous strengthening, with two rows of walls, cannot be found anywhere else in Europe. All these forts (Cottonera line) were built in 1670.
There are no significant attractions on Senglea, but it's nice, cozy and pleasant for walking old town.
