Rasfeld Castle is another typical representative of the water castles in North Rhine-Westphalia. It was built in the Renaissance style in 1643-1658 years. The 52-meter main tower is the tallest among the castles of the region.

From the south-west side a large park Tiergarten adjoins to the castle, where you can find deer. The park was founded in the 17th century and is one of the oldest zoos of the Renaissance epoch. Admission is free, find here opening times.

At the moment the castle houses a restaurant and a hotel (booking.com). Access to the territory is free, visit to the museum if only by appointment.
