In 1945, the castle was confiscated by the Red Army and used as a command center. From next year, it became a home for refugees. In 1965, families who lived in the castle, received two apartment buildings nearby and moved. The castle was reconstructed.
After the unification of Germany, the castle was resold several times for the purpose of reconstruction and in 2000 it opened as a spa hotel (booking.com). This place makes sense to visit if traveling by car.
