Aiguille du Midi is a mountain with a height of 3842 meters. In 1955 the cable car to the summit was built in Chamonix. For a long time is was the highest cable car in the world. It still holds the record as the highest vertical ascent - more than a kilometer! Be careful with such height difference: on the descent it is very easy to get a severe headache.
We planned to go up from the Italian Courmayeur, through the Helbronner mountain. But cableway Helbronner - Aiguille du Midi was not in operation, so we passed through the Mont Blanc tunnel and used cable car in Chamonix.

Getting there: by cable car from French Chamonix or Italian Courmayeur, just make sure that the cableway from Italy is in operation.
