We already have an article on our website about visiting the Serengeti Safari Park, but this time we decided to go there with an overnight stay. The park offers many different accommodation options: lodges, tents, tents, motorhomes (https://serengeti-park.de/uebernachten). Recently, a unique opportunity has appeared, I would say, as we have never seen anything like it - overnight stay in a bus in the middle of the park.

It's interesting, though quite expensive. The bus is designed for 8 people, so we rented it for two families, 4 adults and 2 children. Besides overnight stay, which includes breakfast, we took dinner and tickets to the park. All in all it cost 1000 EUR or 500 EUR per family. The park tickets are very expensive, and you have to take them. In order not to take tickets for two days, but only for the second day, you should arrive at check-in at 16:00 or later. Before reaching the ticket office, you need to turn to this road 52.754139, 9.619972 and drive to the car park.

After check in, you will be given the keys to the bus. There were 5 buses for 2023, they are parked right there. You check in, close the bus and go for a walk in the park. In the evening we had dinner waiting for us at the central restaurant (52.749944, 9.620667). On the way we looked at the lodges where you can also stay overnight.

At the appointed time you must return to the bus, the drivers will come and take all the buses to the park, where you will spend the night. This is the area with the most harmless animals, which is logical, as you will be alone in the park and not everyone follows the rules, opens the doors and gets off the bus to smoke.

The buses are diesel, by the way, and are quite smelly when travelling. When parked, the motor also runs to provide electricity, but there is almost no smell. There is a toilet in the bus, as well as a small kitchen with a fridge. There is of course no air conditioning, on a hot day I can't imagine what we would do.

Another nuance, there are 4 bedrooms in the bus and holes everywhere, so the audibility is great. If you have someone who snores, you should take this into account.

The big question on everyone's mind is, will there be animals around? After the buses are parked, the rangers will come and feed them. Afterwards, the animals will walk around the buses, zebras generally sleep right there, the others go somewhere else when it gets dark.

In addition to buses, you'll have these motorhomes next to you. And if they make sense in Iceland, they don't make sense here. In terms of price, it will be about the same as a bus, but there is much less space inside, and there are no normal windows.

In the morning I woke up to a knock on the door. I thought it was the driver, but it was an ostrich. He was banging on the door and demanding food. Then came the zebras.

Then you wash up, get dressed, a driver comes and takes you to the car park near reception. Check out is at 10am, however we immediately moved our things into the cars and handed over the keys. After that we went for breakfast. After breakfast we went back to the cars and drove to the safari park. Turn immediately to the right (52.751944, 9.617778).

It's even possible to book a tour like this.

We left the safari park at the same place we came in and immediately turned onto this road 52.751944, 9.618167 which leads to the main car park. Basically, even if you get off at a different location, you won't get lost. If possible, it is better to park somewhere here 52.752333, 9.621556.

Serengeti Park is also quite a big amusement park, the rides are included in the same ticket.
