Oleshky Sands is the second largest sand massive in Europe after Ryn Sands in Kazakhstan. Don't believe those who say that it is the largest desert in Europe. Despite the fact that we have specified the tag "desert" in this article, Oleshky Sands is not a desert.
In my unprofessional opinion, this place doesn't differ from a real desert. Some time ago this area was used as a military training ground where bombing was practiced, so be careful, as the bombshells may still be there.
There are quadrocycle tours to the sands, just like in Egypt.
You can also see the Oleshky Sands from the plane, if you fly in the direction of Crimea.
Getting there: The nearest towns are Kherson, Tsyurupinsk, and Nova Kakhovka. The sands can be reached by car, hitchhiking or by bus to the nearby villages. It is best to take a tour.
