Not far from Kyiv, along the Zhytomyr highway there are several interesting granite quarries. They are now abandoned, filled with water and turned into beautiful pieces of nature.
We visited the quarries in April and saw no other tourists. But there are many of them in summer.
A distinctive feature of the Korostyshiv quarry are tall granite banks that reach 10 meters in some places.

In addition to the Korostyshiv quarry we recommend visiting the Vysokyi Kamin quarry nearby.
Getting there: Go along the Zhytomyr highway to the turn on the bypass road around Korostyshiv. But don't turn and go straight 1 km in the Korostyshiv direction. Then look for a left turn into the forest. The quarry is 300 meters from the road.
