Zoo owners advertise it as a modern, european and amazing. Perhaps because of this, many visitors expect something special, although this is usual, new ukrainian zoo. And if you love animals, then you will like it.
We are going to note its advantages and disadvantages.
Pros
Many animals are still babies. This is an incredible plus, as adult animals are much less active. We recommend to visit the zoo this year (2015) and look at the babies, they will not leave you indifferent.

All animals, including predators, are very close to the visitors! In most other zoo large animals and predators are separated from visitors by moats, glass or distance.

There is a petting zoo where you can pet small animals.

It is possible to feed the animals. Because of this, they do not lay in the corner and are waiting for treats.

The area is beautiful, clean, no smells, with toilets, cafes, kiosks, vending machines.

Cons
Zoo has not good location. At the moment (June 2015) you can reach it only by car. Regular bus from the metro station Heroes of the Dnieper is planned.
Not all places are filled with animals, some of them still on the way (June 2015).

The close distance between predators and visitors is also a disadvantage. It's very good for adults, but small children can come close to the cells with dangerous animals, so parents must be very patient.

Getting to the zoo "12 months": At the moment (June 2015) only by car. There are no direct buses to the zoo, but you can use any bus, that runs from metro station Heroes of the Dnieper (Kiev) to the Demidov village. For example to the Kozarovichi or Dymer. The distance from the bus stop to the zoo is about 2 km (25 minutes). Taxi from the metro station Heroes of the Dnieper to the zoo costs about $11.
