Ravana Falls is located on a fairly busy road, so it is often visited by tourists. It was named after the King Ravana from a rather famous Indian epic Ramayana. This is one of the few waterfalls near which you can buy beverages and fruit. In the dry season the water is almost gone.
There is the entrance to the tunnel around the middle of the waterfall. It is assumed that the tunnel is connected with the 13th century Dova Temple, which is located nearby, but no one knows for sure, as it is very dangerous to enter the tunnel.
Getting there: The waterfall is located on the Bandarawela - Wallawawaya highway. If you are traveling from Ella to the south, you will surely see it.
