The first hotel was built here only in 1966. A good ten years later, four more hotels appeared in the town.
The huge Morro Jable lighthouse stands on the beach. Between the lighthouse and the built-up area there is a large empty space, the Jandía Salt Steppe Nature Reserve. The area is flooded by the tides, creating ponds in which sea salt remains due to evaporation.
The lighthouse is modern and helps fishing and commercial vessels. It was built in 1991 and, with a height of 59 metres, is the tallest on the island.
A sperm whale skeleton can be seen on the promenade, this is one of many skeletons that have been set up on the island.
Getting there: free parking along the road 28.048833, -14.333472. The resort is located on the main motorway of the island, many buses come here, they all go in the direction to Morro Jable (https://tiadhe.com/en/our-routes/).
