A large fortress in the Aragon region, one of the oldest Spanish defensive structures. It was built in the middle of the Reconquista, when Christians fought with the Arabs (Moors) who settled in the southern part of the Iberian Peninsula. The castle in the Romanesque style was founded in the 11th century, and the walls were built in 1297.

Getting there: Parking N 42 19.672 W 0 36.651. It is not easy to get on the bus, as there are only two buses per day from Huesca to Loarre, and castle is located in 4.4 km from the town.
