Rupit is one of few picturesque, medieval towns in Catalonia. The settlement is located in the volcanic park, at an altitude of 900 meters.

The houses are built on a basalt rock, some of them are over 500 years old.

We were in Rupit during a referendum and saw everywhere Si signs. On the next photo photo you can also see that the steps are made out of hardened volcanic lava.

On the nearest hill there is a church of Ermita De Santa Magdalena (

On the same road a little further (3.5 km) there is a picturesque place - steep cliffs and a Salt de Sallent waterfall. You can go there on foot or drive through Rupit to the parking lot here
