We stopped in San Sebastian because we saw a beautiful photo on the Internet. This view opens from Mount Monte Igueldo. The cape in the photo divides the city in half and forms two huge beaches: the one in the photo - La Concha and the distant, which is not visible - La Zurriola, which is more suitable for surfers.

We not only climbed the mountain, but also spent the night there at the Mercure Monte Igueldo hotel (booking.com). Specially took a room with a view of the bay.

It is worth saying that in San Sebastian we just walked along the seafront. But there are quite a few interesting places in the city, we will return and write bigger article.

There is also a promenade near the river, palaces and castles, many hills with lookouts. This city is very suitable for holidays, we recommend.

The promenade and beaches in the city are excellent, perhaps this is one of the best promenades we have seen. It is not only convenient to walk here, but also interesting, since the city has many beautiful old palaces and villas.

This is due to the fact that in the 19th century the wife of Emperor Napoleon III Eugenia Montijo began to travel with the imperial palace to the French coastal cities that are located nearby. San Sebastian did not miss the opportunity to become a fashionable and prestigious resort and remains to this day.

Getting there: there are two railway stations in the city: Donostia-San Sebastián - for national trains and the Intxaurrondo underground station for local trains.
