Park Montserrat

Despite its exotic look, Monserrate Palace was built by English architect as a resting place of the Portuguese nobility. The palace was restored to its present appearance by Francis Cook, an industrialist and one of the richest people in the world of his time. He turned the park around the palace into a botanical garden.
