Torre Prendiparte was built in the 12th century. Its height is about 60 meters and the thickness of the walls at the bottom is 1.5 meters. Matteo Giovanardi is taking care of it, he is the heir of an ancient family, who owned the tower for centuries. Upon check in, he conducts a tour over the tower.
Portraits of the former owners on the walls.
Living rooms are located on the lower floors. Entrance hall, bathroom, bedroom and a kitchen. Shower and toilet were made inside the wall, as such luxury did not exist in the Middle Ages. The kitchen is fully equipped.
Just above there is room for a romantic dinner.
Next, the most interesting room of the tower - prison. It is real, all the images and inscriptions on the walls are original and untouched.
Further, up to the roof are technical floors. The tower has 12 floors and no elevator. We climbed to the roof three times, lost a few kilos :)
The roof is the pearl of the tower, just be sure that weather is warm and windless.
Across the tower hidden a lot of different drinks, paradise for alcoholics :)
We took a bottle of champagne and spent the entire evening on the roof, which offers the best view of the city symbol, the double towers of Bologna.
Views in the morning are also impressive. In general, the place is great. Less the 300 people stay here during a year, it is one of the most exclusive hotels in the world.
Getting there: Torre Prendiparte located in the historic center of Bologna.
