Weser-Skywalk - observation deck over the Weser River

Weser-Skywalk is an observation deck, which allows you to look at the river Weser and the Teutonburg Forest from a different angle. It was built in 2011 at an altitude of 80 meters.

Initially, the construction of a viewing platform was perceived negatively by locals. First, some thought it was a waste of money, since the entrance to the site is free. Second, it was impossible to build it without destroying the existing landscape. Therefore, various options were considered and the one that least interfered with nature was chosen.

Another problem was the location itself. Sandstone rocks are not the best place to build something, therefore a number of strength tests were carried out.






Getting there: parking coordinates N 51 39.070 E 9 26.147, from there about 300 meters on foot. The nearest railway station is Bad Karlshafen, then 2 kilometers on foot.
