If you do not know how the buildings of the Renaissance look like, then you must visit the castle of Bevern. This is almost the most characteristic building in the whole of Germany.

It was built in 1603-1612 by the nobleman Statius von Münchhausen, who was the ancestor of the famous "Baron Münchhausen". The best years of the castle were after the Duke of Braunschweig bought it for his son.

At the moment it serves as a museum and a cultural center. Opening hours and ticket price find on the official website. There are guided tours at 15:00 on Sundays and public holidays.
