Otter center (Otter-Zentrum)

In 1979, an otter research project was launched in the Harz Mountains. It lasted until 1986 and then it was decided to open a full-fledged nursery, which was done in 1988 in the town of Hankensbüttel.

The nursery has received many German and international awards. By the way, this is not only a nursery and a zoo, but also a research center. Otters are quite a few species, we had not even suspected. Though we would not be able to distinguish an otter from an ermine, a polecat, or a marten, without informational plates.

All the animals, surprisingly, are very active and constantly moving. For example, it took about 20 minutes to shot this guy.
