Oberwerries Castle

Oberverris Water Castle consists of several buildings. The central palace was built at the end of the 17th century. The territory is small, though there is a baroque garden. It is mainly used for conferences and receptions.


The original building on this site was mentioned in 1284 and at that time the fortress was used to protect Münsterland.


The oldest building, the gatehouse, was built in 1667.


The stable building (Marstall) since 1956 serves as the training center of the local gymnastics federation. On the left is a small dog house.
