There is a place near Bad Harzburg where you can watch wild cats. You may ask, why go somewhere and pay money to look at an ordinary cat? Despite their cute look, they are not ordinary cats, they are wild. If you sit and watch their behavior, you will see differences. Quite often they show unreasonable aggression, which is not characteristic of domestic cats. This is especially evident during feeding.
Wild cats live in the forests of Europe, Africa and Asia. They live in places where hares, rabbits, and birds live. They may even attack a small deer or a roe!

For decades, wild cats were endangered in the region's wilderness, but now they are not only found in the Harz Mountains, but also in the surrounding forests. With the return of the cats, there was a need to study them scientifically, which is how this centre came into being in 2017.
