Oberammergau is a small town in Bavaria. Many buildings in the center of the town are embellished with frescoes, scenes from fairy tales and traditional German ornaments.
Getting there: Trip from Munich lasts 2 hours 20 minutes but with three transfers. Our route was as follows: In the morning we went to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and climbed the Zugspitze mountain. From Garmisch-Partenkirchen we went by regional train to Oberau (6 minutes) and then by bus #9606 (bus stop is near the train station) traveled to Oberammergau (25 minutes). From Oberammergau we went by regional train to Munich. However, this route is not always available, so use the bahn.de website to find the appropriate route.
