We visited Magdeburg in the fall to take a stroll in the city park Rotehorn (Stadtpark Rotehorn). The park is located on an island on the Elbe River, right in the middle of the city. You can either walk there by the old railway bridge or drive by car, parking

The construction of the park began in 1870, but the main elements, including the central Adolf-Mittag-See lake, appeared after 1898, when the flooding problem was solved.

The architectural dominant feature of the park is the 60 meter high Albinmüller-Turm Tower. Together with the Bauhaus Stadthalle Magdeburg, the tower was built for the German theater exhibition of 1927. After World War II it was damaged and not maintained. In 2001, reconstruction began and the tower can now be climbed to enjoy the panorama of the city.

In the park there is also an old boat "Württemberg", which since 1974 is a museum of steamship transport on the Elbe.
