Dadiani Palace

N 42°30.729', E 41°52.448'

Our rating: 8.60
Overall rating:

Dadiani Palace is the winter residence of the rulers of the Megrelian principality, which is located in a botanical garden.

There is a historical and ethnographic museum inside, founded in 1849, we visited it with pleasure. Among the interesting exhibits note one of the three original death masks of Napoleon, and one of the rooms, which is devoted to the emperor. On the pictures you can see the image of the other 50 palaces of the prince.

In the palace I saw an interesting picture of the Koenigssee Lake in Bavaria, but it was signed by the artist as a place somewhere in Switzerland. I reported to the museum keepers, they were surprised :)
