The town is standard, very similar to Baltic resorts in other countries, including Germany. This is not surprising, despite the fact that Pärnu became a resort during the long occupation by the Russian Empire, it was founded by the Germans of the Teutonic Order.
There is a full range of resort activities: beaches, promenades, hotels, restaurants, walking streets with structures, even from the Middle Ages, a zoo, and traditional wooden villas.
Getting there: Pärnu is very conveniently located on the Tallinn - Riga highway. You can travel by bus from many cities in Estonia (https://www.tpilet.ee/).
