Kosiv is a small town near Carpathians. It does not have historic center, most of the buildings have 2-3 floors. You can walk along two streets - Gvardiyska and Nezalegnosti.
In the central square located the main city museum - Hutsul museum which we visited. If you want to learn the culture Huzuls you here (the yellow building on the left).
In the center unfortunately were build several 5-storey houses. This is legacy of the USSR. They have traditional for this region "carpathian" roofs.
This is generally a separate style, with lots of triangles. Even town boards decorated with them.
On the 40b, Independence street there is a Broadway pizzeria. We had a lunch there and can recommend it. They have very good pizza, tortellini and desserts.
Kosiv is a good place for bikers.
As in the other cities of Ivano-Frankivsk region here installed blue street signs, unfortunately only in ukrainian.
And traditional memorial place to "Heavenly hundred", people who died in 2014 in Kiev.
To the right from this place, there is a trail to the top of the town mountain, which offers nice view of the town.
Once upon a time here was a castle. Unfortunately, nothing left.
Kosiv still known for its market, where you can buy handicrafts, embroidery, "lizhniki" (quilts and blankets made of wool), Hutsul household items. The market operates on Saturday from 4 to 14. To find it just follow the crowds of people :)
