Kolomyia is a medium-sized city in Ivano-Frankivsk region. The city has quite well preserved old Austro-Hungarian center, there are ceveral pedestrian streets. Recently, many of the buildings have been reconstructed. Town Hall, built in 1877, has not changed over the past 100 years.

Symbol of the city is its most famous museum "Pysanka" (Easter egg), the only museum of easter eggs in the world (10 to 18 Tu to Su, $1.5, http://hutsul.museum/welcome/). It is located in a huge egg, 13.5 meters in height, which was constructed in 2000.

The museum contains thousands of painted eggs from all regions of Ukraine. The main exhibition is located on the second floor, partly in the egg, partly in the building. Unlike souvenir eggs all presented here are real. Each egg was carefully halved, cleaned, paved inside with dry paper and glued together again.

Only some large eggs were cleared through a small hole.

Each egg here has its own story. Some were signed by famous visitors.

Former Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has decided not just leave the autograph on the egg but to paint it completely. Looks nice. Seems he is better painter then president :)

A whole series of eggs was painted by Ukrainian diaspora in all continents.

Complete collection, by the way, is much more than presented, therefore exposure is updated periodically.

К вышеперечисленному следует добавить городское озеро и деревянную церковь. Делюсь своими впечатлениями на malinak.org.ua/kolomyja-26-08-17.html
