Castle in Skalat

A small village of Skalat has a castle founded by Krzysztof Wichrowski in 1630. Towers are fully preserved, walls and underground partially, looks quite picturesque. There is also a historical exposition in the towers.












In 2013 it was completed partial restoration of the castle. It was held with the help of governmental funds and later with public funds and patrons. There was also help  from owners of quarries, volunteers and students.

There is a complete reconstruction project of the castle, which was prepared by national reserve "Castles of Ternopil", but now it is waiting for funding and better times.


Getting there: by bus from the main bus station in Ternopil (str. Zhivova, 7, schedule) or from the suburban bus station (str. Belogirska, 1 schedule). We traveled by taxi from Ternopil for $18 with waiting.
