Stegastein Lookout

Stegastein lookout, located at an altitude of 650 meters, offers a good view of the Aurlandfjord, the part of the Sognefjord.


The road to the viewpoint starts from the town of Aurlandsvangen. It has very nice promenade, you can walk there. There is also a supermarket in the center (N 60 54.344 E 7 11.216).


Previously, all travelers after reaching the lookout continued on their way further north, along the "The snow road". Now there is no need for this, since the Lerdal tunnel was built under the mountain.
