Rinteln is a small half-timbered town with houses in the Weser Renaissance style. Famous for its university, which was founded in 1621. The well-preserved old town is still characterised by numerous half-timbered houses.
We came with our daughter to the new, large playground (52.186861, 9.077056) and walked around town.
In the Middle Ages, the town was surrounded by a city wall, though we did not discover the remains of it. May be this is the wall.
And here is the tower that remains.
The town has a small promenade, and recently a luxurious beach bar has also appeared.
The two most beautiful squares are located next to each other: Market Square and the square around the city cathedral (Sankt Nikolai Kirche Rinteln).
There are many beautiful half-timbered buildings in the city, it is pleasant to walk around, we recommend it.
