In 2025, one of the most modern shopping centres in Germany, Westfield, opened in Hamburg. It covers an area of 419,000 square metres and cost €2.4 billion to build. The shopping centre is designed without doors, resembling city streets covered by a glass roof, similar to a passageway, but on a much larger scale.

In addition to hundreds of shops and dozens of restaurants, there are many entertainment options. We visited Port des Lumières (
https://www.port-lumieres.com/en), which is a kind of huge hangar where various images are projected onto the walls.

There is a children's area where you can interact with interactive projections on the walls. Also you can draw a boat, scan it, and it will appear on the walls.

Then we visited the Lego Discovery Centre (
https://www.legodiscoverycentre.com/hamburg/) with the children. There are already several such centres in other large cities, and now there is one in Hamburg too. It is a large indoor playground dedicated to Lego, with 12 themed areas, a restaurant, small attractions and a 4D cinema. Designed mainly for young children, our 5-year-old daughter was delighted. Tickets are quite expensive, but it is still better to buy them online and in advance.
