Practically the entire coastline is occupied by hotels, and there are two places where you can drive up to the beach. The main car park, in the centre, is at -20.452083, 57.313750, and the car park for windsurfers, in the south, is at -20.465472, 57.308944. We swam at the second location, here -20.464583, 57.308389, as it was easy for us to walk there from the hotel.
Here is a map, the beach is marked with yellow markers, and you can only access it in two places, which are marked with arrows. You can walk freely all along the beach.
Please note that the southern coast of the cape is not a swimming beach due to the wind, which is a characteristic feature of Mauritius. Swimming is only permitted in the designated area.
If you are not staying at a hotel here, this will be a completely wild beach for you. There is no tourist infrastructure here, and you will even need to bring your own beach mat, so keep this in mind. Everything else is a plus: free parking, clean white sand, clear water, corals, fish, and gorgeous scenery.
We found information online that there is good snorkelling here: -20.435120, 57.318200. However, we also had a good swim on the southern part of the beach.
If your finances allow, stay in hotels on the beach. It's the best place on the island; these beach villas are simply fabulous (booking.com).
Right here, near the beach, there is a famous underwater waterfall, which is described in a separate article.
