In the Belgian forest, near the border with the Netherlands, there is an unusual structure. Like many similar constructions the tower was built by one person.

The construction took Robert Garcet for 15 years, from 1948 to 1963. He worked as a career frontman and was an expert in geology.

As a convinced pacifist, he wanted to build something  after the war that would symbolize peace. Thus, the tower represents a peaceful humanity and contrasts with all forms of violence. There is a lot of symbolism in architecture, numbers 4, 7 and 12 are used.

The tower is built from a rather unusual material - marl and flint, which is mined in a local quarry.
