We arrived at Letychiv to see several objects. The first is a 10-meter bronze monument to Ustym Karmalyuk, a well-known Ukrainian revolutionary. Letychiv was one of the centers of the uprising that he lead in the 1830s. He is buried at the local cemetery.

Next to the monument you can see the castle ruins and the monastery. Exact construction date is unknown (about 1579). Castle walls and the tower are the only things remained but they are in good condition. The monastery is beautiful and well-maintained. We enjoyed walking there.
During the war, the Germans organized a concentration camp at the castle and a ghetto in Letychiv.

Getting there: The town is located on the way from Khmelnytsky to Vinnytsia , so you can get there by bus that runs between the two cities. The best way is to come by train to Khmelnytsky and then take a bus from the bus station. There's even a direct bus to Letychiv (50 km).
