Kachanivka is the best known palace near Kyiv. It's one of the few places in Ukraine that has a website. All buildings are preserved very well, and the location is quite successful. There are all attributes of a classic palace complex in Kachanivka: a forest, a park and a river.
Petro Rumyantsev, who built the estate, was interested in unusual architecture. He owned many other architectural sites in the Ukraine, for example, the palace in the Vyshenky village.
Getting there: There's no direct transport from Kyiv and Chernihiv. You can get there either by train or by bus to Nizhyn, and from there by bus to Ivanytsya (2-3 times a day), but look for the schedule in advance. An easier way is to order a tour, which will also include Sokyryntsi and Trostyanets.
