In 2011, Ukraine hosted the Formula 1 Powerboat World Cup (F1H2O). A suburb of Kyiv, Vyshgorod, was chosen as the venue. Platforms for viewers were mounted on the Dnipro waterfront, and the waterfront itself was totally repaired.
We went there by car. As it always happens during such events, there was no free parking place, so we left the car somewhere in the town and got to the waterfront on foot.
When we reached the waterfront, the number of people there was unrealistic. So we went to find a place to stand, but it was not easy because of crowds. Water and snacks were sold only at the entrance. Luckily it was enough toilets.
But the most unpleasant aspect was the lack of comments about the event. More precisely, they were, but only for the central tribune which was 1 km from us, and of course we heard nothing. Tens of thousands of people sadly looked at the powerboats that were barely visible and didn't understand what was happening. As a result, in a half an hour after the beginning we, like thousands of other spectators, went back. Probably, it would have been interesting to watch with the comments, but without them it was just boring.
Since 2011 the World Cup is held annually, and if we get there again, we will buy tickets or occupy the slopes of the hill behind the central tribune.
Getting there: By minibus #397 from the Heroyiv Dnipra metro station, by minibus #398 from the Tarasa Shevchenka metro station, or by local train from the central train station.
