Medzhybizh Fortress not as famous as other fortresses in Ukraine, but the place is interesting. It was built in 1540 by Hetman Mykola Synyavsky. The fortress itself is located on the outskirts of the village and near the river, which makes it very picturesque.
The fortress is not restored, but the walls and buildings are well preserved, and are now slowly being renovated. There was even a palace on the territory, but now only walls left. It's a perfect place for those who like climbing the ruins of castles.
At the end of summer a traditional historical festival is held on the fortress territory.
The wall on which stands Nastya fall down in 2015... Accordingly, it's not possible anymore to get inside the former palace, as it is in an emergency condition.
Getting there: Go by train to Khmelnytsky, then take a bus or a taxi in the direction of Vinnytsia, for example, to Letychiv. Distance from Khmelnytsky is 32 km.
