Cape Dondra is the southernmost point of Sri Lanka. There is a working lighthouse at the cape, which was opened in 1889. For $3 you can climb to the top. It is a very nice place to walk and watch beautiful coastal scenery.

Getting there: The lighthouse is located 7 km from the center of Matara. You can go on foot for 2 hours, drive 15 minutes by tuk-tuk or half an hour by bus.
