Cathedral Beach (Praia das Catedrais)

Perhaps the most popular beach in Spain. People come here not for swimming, but simply to take a walk in nature and make photos for instagram.






The beach is interesting for natural formations, similar to architectural masterpieces. Hence the name.




You can only go down to the beach at low tide, so check the schedule in advance. The second important point - from July 1 to September 30 there is a limit on the number of visitors to the beach, so online registration is required. Above the beach, on the rocks, you can walk at any time, without registration.


There is one main descent to the beach and several others.


The number of visitors, even in the off-season, was significant, so it is difficult to make any creative photos without people on the beach.




Most tourists stomp on the main, 300-meter, strip of the beach, where there are rocks and pillars. If you move a little to the side, you can walk alone.






An interesting shrub grows on the shore, it is really impassable. Can be used in the places where tourists are not wanted.


Be careful on high banks. Despite the barriers, from time to time tragic events still occur. In 2019, a 24-year-old girl died.
