Beach of the Dead (Playa de los Muertos) has an unusual name, but do not be afraid of it. This is the best beach in Spain, at least in September when we visited it.
Access to the beach is possible only by car (N36 ° 57.217 W001 ° 54.258). You will pass through the industrial area, do not panic and drive on. This cement plant is a bit visible from the beach and it is the only thing that slightly spoils the landscape. From the parking lot to the beach you must walk about 700 meters down the hill. Track is not very easy, wear proper shoes. In September, if you arrive at 9-10 am, you'll be alone on the beach.
There is no infrastructure on the beach, but nevertheless it is very clean. The beach is huge, so even in the season there is a lot of free space. The water is clean, there are rocks, so take a mask for snorkeling. On the beach there is a shadow under the rocks, it is possible to come without an umbrella. There are nudists, but they are everywhere in Spain.
Мы немного полетали над пляжем и засняли его сверху.
Getting there: by car only (N36° 57.217 W001° 54.258). If you do not have a car, but want to visit the beach, you can do the following. From the bus station in Almeria you need to get to the town of Carboneras. This can be done by bus of Frahemar company, ticket costs about 5-6 euros, can be bought from the driver. On this page you can view the schedule in Spanish, use google translator to understand the days of the week. Then you have to go on foot, about 6 kilometers to the right side along the shore and road. If you get off the bus at the moment when it turn to the embankment, when you see the sea and palm trees, you will need to go shorter distance. Or take a taxi in Carboneras, I would do so and would agree on the return journey. But in general, it is better to go by car.
