Sukkertoppen mountain

It is believed that mount Aksla offers the best view of Alesund. In fact, it's just easy accessible for mass-tourist. We climbed the mountain Sukkertoppen (Sugar Loaf, 314 meters), which offers an alternative and also very picturesque view of Alesund.


Start of trail is located on the other side of the mountain, seen from the Alesund.
Hiking trails are always available in Openstreetmap (link) or in a mobile app Maps.Me, which uses them.




On the way to the trail




The trail is not very difficult, though do not forget to bring water. On the very top you will find a tool with an indication of the distances to various objects.


And of course spectacular views in all directions.










Getting there: We came on foot from Alesund to the start of the trail (4 km), also it can be reached by bicycle. Bus 618 from the center of Ålesund, find here the schedule, stops Apotekertorget (Ålesund) and Hessa skole (Ålesund).
